| 摘要 | The paper mainly elaborates that intellectual property rights, trade and economic development affect technology diffusion and domestic innovation in developing and developed countries respectively. A panel data set of 49 countries which include 26 developing countries and 23 developed countries is used in the empirical analysis. We use econometric model to analyze the data set for the period 1985-2005. The result tells that: With the increasing in intellectual property rights, domestic innovation do not show significant positive relationship, and even reduce the level of innovation ability in developed countries which have taken tight IPRs. Economic development facilitates innovation ability, which is more significant in developing countries. Trade has a positive and significant effect on technology diffusion, but has a mixed effect on domestic innovation in developed and developing countries. Developed countries seem to attract more foreign technology than developing countries through international trade. Considering differences between developed and developing countries, policy makers should adopt distinct decisions on innovation and technology diffusion in different countries. |
